GameStop signs partnership with NET10; now offers cell phone plans
GameStop, widely known as the brick-and-mortar video game outlet in North America, today announced to the world that it is now offering cell phone plans.
Evidently, the retailer signed a partnership with NET10, and now offers unlimited talk, text, and data plans for all U.S. stores. It's not an entirely unpredictable move on their part; GameStop does already sell a number of smartphones.
Interested parties can purchase a SIM card at the store and place it into any GSM-enabled device. At that point, they'll have the run of NET10's various different plans.
It's also been hinted that this may not be the only way in which GameStop is planning to branch out in the face of declining sales. CEO Paul Raines hinted last year that the organization is considering vintage game sales.
