Ubisoft to console Wii U owners with exclusive demo for Rayman Legends

NEWS | ? Comments |

Author: Peter Grimm

As you’ll probably recall, Ubisoft revealed last week that Rayman Legends is no longer a Wii U exclusive, and then delayed the Wii U version so that it could launch next to its newly-revealed PS3 and Xbox 360 brothers in September.

Needless to say, Wii U owners who were happily waiting for the game’s original release date at the end of the month were not happy to find their wait abruptly extended by nearly seven months. Aware of this, Ubisoft will be giving them something to tide them over for the time being: a special Wii U-exclusive demo for Rayman Legends that will be available within the vague timeframe of “soon.”

Ubisoft to console Wii U owners with exclusive demo for Rayman Legends

“Thanks for all your feedback regarding Rayman Legends in all of its forms. We have heard you and we will continue to listen,” Ubisoft said on its Facebook page. “We understand your frustration and that you want to get your hands on the game. We are working with the development team to provide you with a new, exclusive demo for the Wii U soon. Stay tuned for more.”

But wait, a lot of you are probably wondering, has not a demo for Legends been available exclusively for Wii U for over a month now? It has, and I personally doubt another one will sooth the hurt feelings of the disappointed fans. And if what Jesse Schell has said about game demos hurting sales is true, then Ubisoft may be shooting itself in the foot considerably, what with releasing two demos for the game.
