Wargaming.net acquires Gas Powered Games

Wargaming.net, developers of the highly-acclaimed strategy MMO World of Tanks, has been making the news a lot lately. Earlier in the week, we reported on their plans to found an eSports league around World of Tanks. Today, they've made headlines for a different reason: the acquisition of the ailing developer Gas Powered Games.

Best known for the Dungeon Siege franchise, things were looking pretty grim for GPG after the cancellation of Wildman through Kickstarter,.

It seems like things could be looking up now, however. No word yet on how much GPG was purchased for, and all they've said of the acquisition is that GPG "has a long track record of providing incredibly engaging AAA gaming experiences," and that they "can't wait to start working with them."

Even better; for the moment it looks like Wargaming's following the golden rule of acquisitions: if it works, don't fix it.
