Today's free iOS game featured on Blacksmith Games' "Appvent Calendar" is called Wispin. The game is an arcade action title with a unique “color-matching” mechanic. Players use the color wheel to change the appearance of the hero, Wispin, to defeat the colorful enemies called Bloopers with zany power-ups. The game includes achievement as well as Retina Display support.
Gameloft has also decided to donate a substantial giveaway to the gaming cause. Today, Gangstar: West Coast Hustle HD is available for free to all iPad owners. This game usually costs $4.99 USD, so it's a pretty substantial deal. Gangstar is a GTA: Chinatown Wars clone and is the best-selling crime simulation game on the App Store.

- Apache Strike: Desert Storm -- The successor to Apache Killer. Take an attack helicopter and wreak havoc across desert battlefields. Usually $2.99.
- Duel: Blade & Magic MT -- An RPG fighting game where you battle friends and monsters alike. This MT version is specifically made for iOS4.
- Sliding Heroes -- This is a real-time strategy game from Square Enix where you “slide” your units across the map by simply tilting the iPhone / iPod touch. You can choose from multiple unit types, including warriors, clerics, and mages.
- Bounce On -- After falling from a familiar pocket, roll and bounce your way through 75 levels full of adventure.
