BioWare unveils Mass Effect 3 'Citadel' DLC; to give Commander Shepard 'one final sendoff'
On March 5, BioWare will finally draw Commander Shepard's story to a close. That's the day when the last piece of Mass Effect 3 DLC, termed "Citadel," goes live. A concurrent piece of free multiplayer DLC, known as "Reckoning," will hit the regular download channels a week before, on February 26.
Strap in, folks. It's going to be a bumpy, emotional ride.
"The team has poured heart and soul into Reckoning and Citadel." said BioWare's Casey Hudson. "At the launch of these chapters near, the feeling around the studio has been bittersweet. We have always been humbled and driven by the passion of our fans for the Mass Effect trilogy. We hope fans will enjoy spending more time with some of their favorite characters - we have certainly enjoyed spending time creating them. We're excited to release this final sendoff for the trilogy and move forward into the future of the Mass Effect universe."
ME3 Citadel will unlock a number of new locations interspersed throughout the vast hub of galactic civilization and will (BioWare promises) allow players to connect with some of their favorite characters from the trilogy. Reckoning, meanwhile, offers new weaponry and character kits for the game's multiplayer offerings.
Citadel will be available for $14.99 through PC and PS3 or 1200 MS Points on Xbox LIVE.
