According to developer Bohemia Interactive, an alpha for ARMA III is on its way. The title will enter into the alpha phase of testing come March 5. Players who sign up for the Alpha will be able to access four separate missions (Infantry, Vehicles, Helicopter, and SCUBA), two multiplayer scenarios, and both the built-in scenario editor and the title's modding capabilities. The entire Alpha is set on Stratis, an island that covers a total distance of twenty square kilometers.

Currently, there are two purchase packages for ARMA III. The Alpha pack costs $30.00, while the Digital Deluxe Edition will run you around $50.00. Both of these versions include access to the Alpha, Beta, and final product.

If you're not so keen on spending your hard-earned cash quite yet, there'll also be an invitation-only, free version of the Alpha running from March 12 onward, which won't allow for online play or mod support.
