The Name of the Wind author, Patrick Rothfuss, to join Torment: Tides of Numenera team
Torment: Tides of Numenera already has some serious talent backing it, including legendary RPG designer Monte Cook and Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer designer George Ziets.
Today, on the project's Kickstarter (via VentureBeat), they've plans to add yet one more to the already impressive roster: Author Patrick Rothfuss. Rithfuss is responsible for the critically acclaimed The Name of the Wind, and he will join the team if the ongoing Kickstarter reaches $3.25 million.
At this point, considering the project's success and Kicktraq progress, it seems better to say that he'll join when it does.
This development, while exciting, evidently scares the hell out of the game's creative lead, Colin McComb. "I'm a little wary about telling these people what to do" McComb said to GamesBeat. "I'm really excited to work with them, but at the same time I think 'wow, where do I get off telling you how to do this?'"
A gamer at heart, Nick started writing when he was a child. He holds a BA in English, works as a freelancer, and loves every minute of it. One day, he hopes to net himself a career in game design - but that's something for the future.
