Paradox Interactive announces Magicka: Wizard Wars
I may be exaggerating a touch, but I think it's safe to say that League of Legends is essentially the new World of Warcraft. What I'm saying is that it has set out a new proverbial cake before the games industry, of which everyone wants a slice.
The MOBA craze has, since League of Legends' release, increased to a fever pitch, with developer after developer dipping their toes into the pool. Paradox Interactive, the fine organization responsible for the excellent title Magicka, has just hopped on board the bandwagon.
Today at GDC 2013, Paradox announced the latest entry into the Magicka franchise: Magicka: Wizard Wars; a MOBA title with a rather unique take on the genre.

Magicka: Wizard Wars pits two teams of four wizards against one another in a frenetic duel to the death, utilizing the spell-crafting system from the original Magicka as a foundation. Developed by Paradox North (a new arm of Paradox Interactive), the game is slated to feature "shot battles, persistent character progression, and plenty of laughter."
