PopCap Games May Go Public
In an interview with Forbes' Oliver Chiang, PopCap Games CEO Dave Roberts confirmed that his company is gearing up for a possible initial public offering in the second half of 2011.
According to the Forbes report, "PopCap just took its first-ever round of funding, $22.5 million, last year in October," money which was used to capitalize on opportunities and fuel expansion.
Going public in 2011 could help the company expand exponentially faster, but apparently there isn't a lot of urgency to do so from the company's current ensemble of private investors.
“We’ll look at [an IPO] for the second half of next year,” Roberts told Forbes. Adding, “There are no investors pushing for it, so we will really only look at it if the markets align.”
