Respawn Entertainment trademarks 'Titan'
Three years have gone by since Respawn Entertainment was founded by ex-Infinity Ward members Vince Zampella and Jason West (whose departure from Respawn was made known last month). And yet, in all that time, we have heard so little of what the developer’s first game will be that we don’t even know what it’s called, but now we may have an idea.
Last week, Respawn registered a trademark for the name “Titan” (not to be confused with Blizzard’s upcoming MMO, Project Titan), filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office to use the name for "video game software."
For the moment, that tells us nothing about what Respawn intends to use it for, but it seems reasonable to assume that “Titan” is the name of that illusive first game, which the developer says will finally be revealed at E3 in June.
"Respawn continues to amaze me, the team here is resilient and talented. E3 will be therapeutic for us, as we finally get to start showing our work again,” Zampella said following West’s departure from the developer.
Looking forward to Respawn’s first game? Feel free to let us know.
