Unity co-founder reveals new mobile development studio, Framebunker
Nicholas Francis, one of the co-founders of Unity, today revealed a new mobile development studio known as Framebunker alongside former Unity creative director Charles Hinshaw. Concurrent with this announcement, Francis and Hinshaw also revealed their first title: a science fiction tactical combat game known as Static Sky, which is due out on tablets in early 2014.
Francis says he hopes that Framebunker can breathe some much-needed vigor into the mobile gaming market.
"Tablets have become the platform of choice for many gamers, but the vast majority of tablet games are still utterly forgettable. They may be fun, but they aren't the kind of games that will be worth re-playing in 20 years. At Framebunker, our mission is to deliver the kind of unforgettable experiences that tablet gamers deserve."
Francis left Unity back in February to pursue a career in game development.

A gamer at heart, Nick started writing when he was a child. He holds a BA in English, works as a freelancer, and loves every minute of it. One day, he hopes to net himself a career in game design - but that's something for the future.
