Tencent and Capcom officially announce Monster Hunter Online
Some big news today from publishers Capcom and Tencent: Monster Hunter Online has been officially announced! Of course, we don't know a great deal about it quite yet, as the original press releases were in Chinese. Still, the fine folks over at NeoGAF have been kind enough to provide us with a translation and hunt down the official trailer (pictured below):
From what we understand right now, the title be playable with either controller or keyboard; it will include an in-game clock with a time-of-day system, a weather system with some monsters developing different skill sets based on the environment, special attacks, a number of new moves and combos for in-game weapons, a city to serve as the game's main hub, and a whole roster of monsters, both new and old. One creature, referred to as "big rock dragon" in the release, is reportedly designed as a 24-player challenge.
In short, this game is big. Here's hoping it makes its way to the West and isn't a China-exclusive affair. You can check out a few screencaps from the game below.
