Blizzard's Josh Mosqueira, formerly the lead designer for Diablo III, has just received a promotion. Blizzard today took to Twitter to announce that Mosqueira is now Diablo III's game director.

Mosquiera wrote a lengthy blog post announcing his new title along with his background. As game director, he will now be responsible for coordinating and managing the game's ongoing development.

Mosqueira got his start as a writer for White Wolf, when he co-wrote Montreal by Night and Constantinople By Night back in 1996. He has since worked on a number of games, including Homeworld, Company of Heroes, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, and Far Cry. In 2012, he joined Blizzard as D3's lead designer and was tasked with seeing if developing the title for consoles was viable.
