GameStop to begin accepting 'unlimited pre-orders' for PS4

According to a leaked memo obtained by GameTrailers, retailer GameStop this weekend plans to start allowing "unlimited pre-orders" of the PlayStation 4.

"Starting now, through this weekend and until further notice, Sony has allowed us to take unlimited preorders beyond our current allotments," the memo reads. "In other words, the floodgates are open for PS4 system reserves. We will let you know when to stop preordering based on limited quantities."

Earlier in the week, SCEA CEO Jack Tretton says that GameStop plans to buy "every single unit" the studio can manufacture, and that demand may well exceed supply. In other words... you'd best pre-order your console soon. At launch, it may well end up being as scarce as the Wii was in 2006.
