Next-gen Tomb Raider sequel 'well into development', according to Square Enix
The news was confirmed in an open letter on the company’s website, where Phil Rogers, head of Square’s American and European divisions, stated, “I am also excited to reveal that we are well into development on a next-generation Tomb Raider sequel – something you may have heard about recently.”
Indeed, the Gamersphere has been aware of Square’s plans to continue Lara’s new adventures for a while now, aside from pretty much knowing it would happen thanks to the success of Tomb Raider. Last month, Dark Horse Comics confirmed that it would be publishing a Tomb Raider comic that would take place after the first game and lead right into a sequel.
From the sound of “well into development”, it looks like we may not have to go too far into the next console generation before we can get our hands on Tomb Raider II. Is that a thought that excites you? Feel free to let us know.
