Blizzard to make 'special announcement' at Gamescom later this month
With Gamescom less than three weeks away now, publishers and developers are getting ready to drop a heaping pile of news and announcement upon our heads in Cologne, Germany later this month.
Among them will be Blizzard, who sent out an invitation to press folk recently, hinting at things to come. “We’re making a special announcement that’s sure to capture the attention of the Heavens, Burning Hells and all the shadowed places that lie between,” the company said.
Judging from all that fantasy-style talk of heavens and hells, it sounds like Blizzard is preparing to announce something big for Diablo III. This suggests that A) Blizzard will have more news to reveal about the upcoming console port of its treasure-laden dungeon crawler, or B) they will finally reveal that Diablo III expansion that we’ve known about since last year.
Or maybe they they’ll do both, and then throw in some extra news and awesome swag as a bonus for the attendees. That’s always possible.
Gamescom will take place from August 21 to August 25. Blizzard’s press conference is set to take place on August 21. Prepare for big stuff to come blowing your way from Germany, Diablo fans.
