Bioware had a very exciting announcement today related to Star Wars: The Old Republic. In a bid to retain players (and to bring in some new faces), the studio announced that the title's most recent expansion, Rise of the Hutt Cartel, is now free to everyone with a subscription. Becoming a subscriber today will net a copy of the game, coupled with 500 cartel coins if you're a returning subscriber.

As for those who bought the expansion back when it first came out; they'll receive a unique in-game title, "The Raven." Those who purchased the title between August 11 and September 12, meanwhile, will be granted 1050 bonus cartel coins.

Last, but certainly not least, anyone who creates a new free-to-play account or returns as a subscriber before October 20 will be gifted a JA-3 Subversive Battle Droid Mini-Pet and a JA-3 Subversive Speeder.
