Nintendo reveals X & Y's fossil Pokemon

Nintendo yesterday revealed Pokemon X & Y's fossil pokemon, Tyrunt and Amaura. As is tradition, you'll only be able to choose one of the two Pokemon to revive and train per save.

Tyrunt is a Tyrannosaurus-themed Rock/Dragon type Pokemon, attained by restoring the Jaw Fossil. It eventually evolves into Tyrantrum. Both Pokemon have the Strong Jaw ability, which boosts the strength of biting moves.

The Brontosaur-like Amaura, meanwhile, is a Rock/Ice type which can be attained through the Sail fossil. It evolves into Aurorus, and possesses the Refrigerate ability, which turns normal-type moves into Ice ones. I think we're looking at a Dragon type's worst nightmare right here, given the attack power of most normal moves.

In terms of appearance, I really love Tyrunt - I mean, c'mon, it's a T-Rex - but Amaura's type combination and special ability looks positively devastating. I'm gonna have to take a bit more time to decide which fossil to nab, methinks. What about you, folks?
