Heroes of the Storm IP trademarked by Blizzard

NEWS | ? Comments |

So Blizzard has filed another new trademark. As always, this has kicked off a flurry of excitement and speculation over what the new title might be. We've only one hint at the moment: the trademark was filed in New Zealand by AJ Park; Park also had a hand in registration of Hearthstone and Reaper of Souls.

Heroes of the Storm IP trademarked by Blizzard

Since everybody's already buzzing about this as it is, I think I'll toss my two cents into the pot, as well. From where I stand, Heroes of The Storm is likely as not going to be a Starcraft property. Think about it - we've already had updates to the Warcraft and Diablo franchises in very recent memory; another expansion to either franchise so soon after the previous one wouldn't make much sense.

Then again, the name doesn't necessarily tie Blizzard to any of its three franchises. It's quite possible that we might just be seeing a new IP - or at the very least, a new MOBA - on the way in the future. Time will tell, I suppose.
