20 iPhone / iPod Touch Games You Must Play

With the iOS App Store in its third year and recently hitting one billion downloads, there are plenty of noteworthy games for Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch.  Here are twenty of GameDynamo’s favorites!

Infinity Blade (Action)

The most gorgeous game available on the App Store, Infinity Blade also wields an innovative combat system where timing finger swipes is crucial to survival.  This is the game to show off to your friends and family when displaying the power of the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (Racing)

With the recent update adding racer challenges to law enforcement challenges, the portable version of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit emulates its console big brother even more.  Excellent graphics, intuitive gyroscope and touch controls, and a lengthy career mode all make Hot Pursuit worth the download.

Hexalex (Words)

Scrabble and Words With Friends may have been released earlier and gained more popularity, but Hexalex is the logical evolution of the venerated word game.  Using hexes instead of squares, Hexalex allows players more freedom when placing words either against the computer or online.

Fragger (Puzzle) 

The App Store is chock-full of good physics-based puzzlers and Fragger is easily one of the most addictive.  The goal is simple: throw grenades at terrorists hiding in strategic locations.  It’s both entertaining and educational!

Neuroshima Hex (Board)

Neuroshima Hex is a hex-based board game that has players fighting for territory with various human and robotic units with varying attack, hit points, and special abilities. Neuroshima Hex offers plenty of strategies for those looking for something with more depth than the average iOS game.
