BioShock Infinite, Grand Theft Auto V and Super Mario 3D World among top nominees for Spike VGX awards

Big news. Spike TV’s annual Video Game Awards is now going by VGX, simply because. Bigger news. The nominees for next month awards show has been announced, and Spike is asking players to pick their favorite.

Among the heavy-hitters this year are BioShock Infinite, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Grand Theft Auto V, and Super Mario 3D World, all five of which are in the running for the coveted Game of the Year award. The rest of the best of 2013’s best are slated to make an appearance, with the hope of being declared the top of their genre, platform, or what-have-you.

While most of the nominations were chosen by a council consisting of names from publications including IGN, PC Gamer, Game Informer, Kotaku, and USA Today, viewers will have the chance to vote for their favorites in each category on the VGX website here.
