Blizzard announced today that Reaper of Souls, the upcoming expansion to action-RPG Diablo III, will be receiving a closed beta by the end of the year. Currently, public testing is already underway, though only friends and family of the developers along with "valued media contacts and key members of the Blizzard community" currently have access.

The most interesting thing about this beta is that those participating aren't bound by any sort of NDA. "As a result," explains the post, "you may see coverage in the form of articles, videos, streams, and forum posts appear over the next few weeks regarding features and changes in the expansions."

The closed beta will commence as soon as the Friends and Family Beta is over. Those interested in participating will need to navigate to their Battle.Net profile and adjust their settings.
