First Pokemon X/Y online tournament begins next month

The Pokemon Company today announced that next month will mark the first online tournament to permit the use of Pokemon from Pokemon X and Y

First Pokemon X/Y online tournament begins next month

The Pokemon X and Pokemon Y Competition will utilize the Pokemon Global Link feature to connect battling trainers all over the world, in addition to allowing trainers to use Pokemon from the Kalos region in combat. The tournament is set to begin on Thursday, February 20 at 7 PM Eastern. Players who've already registered their copies of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y to their Global Link accounts already qualify to participate, as do those who've earned high rankings in onine Global Showdown events.

Those who've not yet registered will need to do so by January 31.
