BioWare producer gauging fan interest in potential ‘Dragon Age Tactics’ game
Many months have gone by since the DLC train stopped for Dragon Age: Inquisition, leaving a gap in the series’ lifespan just waiting to be filled, and at some point recently, somebody at BioWare evidently looked at this month’s releases of XCOM 2 and Fire Emblem Fates, noted the growing absence of anything Dragon Age-related, and then got an idea.
That somebody is Mark Darrah, executive producer for the franchise. Compelled by the aforementioned notion, this weekend he started up a poll to ask the Dragon Agers on Twitter if they we at all fascinated by the idea of a DA game that foregoes the series’ traditional action-RPG gameplay for something more in the tactics-driven vein of XCOM and Fire Emblem.
And according to the final results of the poll…
…yeah, I believe they’re fascinated.
Tough luck for the platform-elitists, by the way.
Whether or not the rest of BioWare will grab onto the idea and make Darrah’s hypothetical “Dragon Age Tactics” remains to be seen, but it’s interesting to see the developers reaching out to the fanbase to get some gauge of where they might want the series to go from here. If nothing else, it’ll be interesting to see if the studio actually acts on this in the near future.
Now I ask you, the Dragon Agers on GameDynamo, would you like to play a tactical DA game? As that was the only question Darrah asked the Twitter fans, so will it also be the only question I ask you. Now get on down to the comment section below and tell me your answers, if you please.
