Matrix Software is a Japanese video game development studio based in Tokyo, Japan. The company was founded in July of 1994 by former members of Climax Entertainment and Telenet Japan.

Matrix is best known for their work on Square Enix and Chunsoft titles including Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. Creating other manga-based titles as well as mobile phone games is also a core part of its business.
