"'Tis the Season"
Have you ever played The Sims or a similar game and wondered how it's possible to have sunny blue skies and green grass every single day? Sure, every now and then the temperature will change and maybe we will be thrown a curve ball in the form of rain, but to add a sense of realism to an already realistic and addicting game, The Sims 3: Seasons expansion adds... you guessed it... seasons!
We all know and love the Sims and their fun vacation spots, adorable pets, exciting careers, and even their encounters with celebrities, but it's been three years since the launch of The Sims 3 in 2009, and now players finally have full control over the seasons, including when they come and how long they stay. By default, each season lasts seven days, but it can be adjusted to span from three to 28 days. With each season comes a fun new possibility to add to the game. Take for instance, winter. The cold snowy days can cause a Sim to develop frostbite and other winter-related illnesses. No need to panic... try adjusting the wardrobe choices to make the Sims ready for the chilly weather with new outerwear and accessories such as sweaters, boots, and coats.
If you're not fond of the frost on the windows, change the seasons as much as you please. Seasons can be easily adjusted depending on your mood or your adaptation needs, based on the world you created. Check the weather forecast often to be sure your Sims stay healthy and are well suited to the seasons, which will bring heavy snow, fog, hail and rain. The change of seasons include flowers blooming and leaves falling in shades of red and orange, and that's just one way in which Seasons brings The Sims 3 even more to life.
Another unique aspect of The Sims 3: Seasons is that now The Sims have something to look forward to on their calendar. Now, they can finally enjoy a long anticipated day off from work or school to celebrate an occasion - like "Spooky Day!" Along with the changing seasons, comes, of course, holidays. This is an exciting way to set the tone for each season by adding activities we all know and love such as trick-or-treating or holiday gift exchanges.
