"Going Back in Time"
World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor has finally launched and despite server issues, it appears that Blizzard is taking the game in the right direction. As soon as you reach the steps of the Dark Portal you'll immediately notice the shift in tone from Mists of Pandaria. Warlords bring back the evergreen threat of the orcs in a way that feels refreshing.
If you've been away from Azeroth for some time, you'll notice the new character models in the game. The new looks are great and definitely revitalized the love for my character. You'll also gain class perks when you level up from 90-100. These perks are passive abilities that enhance different class talents that you already have access to.
Warlords also gives us Garrisons. Your garrison is your base of operations. You will be able to customize it the further into the story you get. Blizzard does a good job of not making a garrison necessary, but it is strongly encouraged to do the bare minimum in each zone as they allow very helpful bonuses such as a freakin' mount you can ride IN COMBAT! If you want to go all out, you can create buildings that help your professions by giving you materials via "work orders." You'll also have followers that you can send on missions to earn garrison resources. Overall, it wasn't as involved as I thought it would be and some work orders and follower missions take a long time to complete. Despite this, garrisons offer some nice options that many players can find beneficial come end-game.
The last big feature added is Ashran. This is a Player Vs. Player zone that mainly works like a tug-o-war battle. You have the option to complete side missions, but be ready to take on some like-minded foes away from the main fight. My early impressions of Ashran aren't favorable. The lack of direction is very frustrating when you first set foot in the battle zone. Add in long queue times and it’s something to all-together avoid.
While it's still early in the expansion, I can comfortably say that World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor is a step in the right direction. The new looks, the darker theme and level 100 cap have given WoW the facelift it needs to continue to be a fun, immersive game.

Garrison is a major enthusiast for the video game medium. RPG's, superheroes and oddly enough basketball satisfy his imagination just enough to function in the real world.
